Sr. Node Engineer

Yum! Brands is looking for a Sr. Backend Software Engineer to help shape the future of restaurant tech through our proprietary Byte by Yum! Labor & Inventory platform. This role is all about building intuitive, scalable tools that empower restaurant managers to handle scheduling, inventory, and financials with ease. You’ll be part of a fast-moving delivery team focused on creating a web-based Restaurant Management Platform that makes running a restaurant smarter, faster, and more connected.

What You'll Be Doing:

Design and implement scalable RESTful (or GraphQL) APIs using Node.js and Typescript
Work with relational and PostgreSQL databases to manage service data, in addition to utilizing AWS services and DynamoDB
Write comprehensive unit tests to ensure code quality
Contribute to sprint planning and grooming of new features
Ensure the performance, security, and scalability of web applications
Guide other engineers on engineering best practices and code reviews
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, UX, QA, and SRE teams

What You Bring:

A BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Minimum 5 years designing, developing, and maintaining scalable web applications
Experience developing RESTful (or GraphQL) APIs with Node.js
Solid understanding of SQL (PostgreSQL/SQL Server) and Redis or other NoSQL databases
Familiarity with AWS cloud and CI/CD pipelines is a plus
Experience working in Agile teams with a strong delivery mindset
Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with a passion for clean, maintainable code
Ability to take ownership and thrive in a collaborative team environment as well as work independently on building solutions to complex business challenges
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage stakeholders and partners across the team and organization.
Familiarity with Golang a definite plus, but not required

Salary: $114,000 - $155,000 annually + bonus eligibility

This is the expected salary range for this position. Ultimately, in establishing pay, we'll consider the successful candidate’s location, experience, and other job-related factors.
