We are seeking a Senior Network Administrator to work within the Information Technology department of a client in Washington, DC.

Sr. Network Admin

6 months contract to perm

$48-$55/hr

Major duties and responsibilities:

Lead and coordinate the administration, maintenance, and optimization of the network infrastructure including firewalls, load balancers, and reverse-proxy systems Maintain and enhance the network security policies ncluding monitoring of perimeter security ensuring availability, integrity, and confidentiality of information

Responsible for maintaining access management systems Proactively monitor and audit network environments, coordinate consistent patching cycles, troubleshoot and direct adjustments as needed Responsible for coordinating security incident responses Proactively evaluate and recommend network and security systems and devices to support the current and future infrastructure needs of the client

Actively contributes to business continuity planning and testing Coordinate regularly with systems administration, database administration, and application development to ensure highly efficient and effective production environment

Perform other duties as assigned Minimum qualifications:

Extensive university or college level training leading to a Bachelor’s degree accompanied by 3 years direct experience working in a senior role in network administration; or an Associate’s degree with 6 years experience with specific certifications in networking such as CCNA, CISSP, CCIE, or JNCIA Extensive knowledge of and experience with TCP/IP networking including VLANs, VRRP, and spanning-tree protocols as well as advanced knowledge in DNS, HTTPS, FTPS, and SMTP Advanced experience in Cisco IOS configuration and management Proven experience supporting and maintaining Cisco dual meshed switches, MFC Routers, BGP-based internet services, Cisco Load Balancers, and NAT Firewall services running IPF and IPNAT Advanced knowledge of shell scripting Advanced knowledge of Single Sign-on technologies a plus Familiarity with Vyatta Network OS a plus Experience with Microsoft Hyper-V Server a plus Certifications such as CISSP, CCNA, and CCIE as well as advanced training in networking a major plus

Trainer / Technical Writer Qualifications and skills:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience;

• Sound understanding of the principles of training and business development;

• 2+ years of experience in training and/or technical writing;

• Demonstrated experience to work on multiple assignments at a time;

• Flexibility to work as needed to meet deadlines ;

• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe products;

• Requires excellent oral and written communication skills;

• Strong command of the English language and grammar/publication styles;

• Ability to rework technical test for a broader audience;

• Experience in working with technical teams to create user manuals/guides/documentation is a MUST;

• Understanding of programming concepts, operating systems and/or networking;

• Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle Process;

• Creative and innovative;

• Good attention to detail;

• Team player.
