Your role at Baxter
As the Human Resources Sr Manager at Baxter Healthcare Corporation, you will have the opportunity to provide HR support and leadership for our Cartago manufacturing plant. This facility, with its 1,800-employee workforce, is a vital part of our organization, and you will play a key role in driving initiatives to improve organization and management team efficiency. As the sole site-based HR professional, you will work directly with the local employee population and strategically partner with leadership.

Your Team
Reporting to the HR Director, MPT – Device Cluster, you will work in a collaborative and continuous improvement-focused team of US/Caribbean and Malta-based HR professionals. Together, you will be responsible for crafting an outstanding HR environment that promotes growth and development.

What you'll be doing

• Develop HR plans and strategies to achieve strategic objectives and foster a desired interpersonal culture.

• Handle HR operational transactions in HRIS (Workday) and timekeeping/payroll (Kronos) systems.

• Collaborate with management on various HR and business-related issues, both strategically and operationally.

• Handle employee relations, staffing, and compensation issues in partnership with managers and external partners; facilitate New Hire Orientation and HR Training programs to ensure a smooth onboarding process.

• Support organization-wide talent planning initiatives, including assessment, development planning, and organizational planning.

• Maintain accurate and organized documentation of recordkeeping and filing systems in HR-related fields using Microsoft Applications and specialized software/systems.

• Support the employee promotion and hiring process, including job description development and attendance at job fairs.

• Promote adherence to all relevant laws and regulations while encouraging a safe and ethical work environment.

• Provide advice and counsel to resolve employee-related matters and ensure fair and equitable solutions are implemented.

• Implement coordinated HR systems, including compensation and benefits and performance management and provide feedback to Centers of Excellence on program efficiency and unmet needs.

• Coordinate and carry out Equal Employment and other HR policies to promote fairness and inclusivity.

• Lead all aspects of employee services and ensure the compensation program practices are internally equitable.

• Identify and evaluate risks and environmental aspects, taking vital action to address them.

• Collaborate with functional areas and other countries as required.

What you'll bring

• Bachelor's degree required in Human Resources or Business Administration; Master's degree is preferred.

• A minimum of 5 years of HR experience, including at least 5 years of diverse HR roles.

• Experience working with a large hourly workforce and flexibility to work across a 5-day, 3-shift operation.

• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, C1 minimum.

• Confirmed HR knowledge and experience in training, compensation, performance management, organizational change, interpersonal design, and national and provincial employment law.

• Effective communication, influence, and listening skills,

• Experience in employee relations and conflict resolution.

• Capability to handle multiple projects and responsibilities in a changing environment.

• Confirmed knowledge in the development of human resources strategies.

• Strong decision-making abilities and understanding of organizational needs.
