Reporting to the Head of Total Rewards & Safety, the Senior Manager, Health & Safety is an experienced professional responsible for supporting the implementation, administration, and ongoing improvement of health and safety (H&S) programs across the United States and Canada.
This role ensures operational compliance with local, state/provincial, and federal regulations, contributes to risk mitigation strategies, and promotes a culture of safety and well-being throughout the organization. The Senior Manager, Health & Safety works on moderately complex projects, manages assignments independently, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen health and safety practices.
SUPPORT THE IMPLEMENTATION OF HEALTH & SAFETY PROGRAMS
Assist with carrying out health and safety initiatives, ensuring they align with organizational objectives and comply with local, state/provincial, and national regulations.
Help develop and implement health and safety policies, procedures, and frameworks to support a safe and healthy work environment.
Monitor emerging trends, risks, and best practices in health and safety to support ongoing improvement.
PARTICIPATE IN HEALTH & SAFETY PROJECTS
Take part in moderately complex health and safety projects, contributing to planning, execution, and follow-up activities.
Work with team members and stakeholders to implement health and safety initiatives and address specific issues.
Help develop tools, templates, and resources that support health and safety programs.
ENSURE COMPLIANCE WITH REGULATIONS
Follow established procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety laws, regulations, standards, and best practices.
Carry out audits and assessments to identify gaps and recommend corrective actions.
Stay up to date with regulatory changes and provide input to help maintain ongoing compliance.
CONTRIBUTE TO RISK MITIGATION AND INCIDENT MANAGEMENT
Identify and evaluate health and safety risks within the organization, and support the development of strategies to mitigate them.
Support the investigation of incidents, including conducting root cause analysis and implementing preventive measures.
Contribute to the development and implementation of emergency response plans and crisis management protocols.
PROMOTE A CULTURE OF HEALTH AND SAFETY
Lead initiatives to increase awareness of and engagement with health and safety across the organization.
Develop and deliver training programs and resources to ensure understanding and compliance with health and safety practices, including communicating updates, tracking completion rates, and maintaining consistency in training.
Serve as an advocate for health and safety, helping to integrate it into the organization’s culture.
COLLABORATE WITH INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL STAKEHOLDERS
Collaborate with the headquarters Health and Safety team and other internal departments to align health and safety priorities with overall organizational objectives.
Provide insights and recommendations to internal stakeholders to improve health and safety practices.
Engage with external regulatory agencies, vendors, and health and safety consultants to ensure compliance and incorporate industry best practices.
Organize Health and Safety committee meetings, record action items, communicate decisions and outcomes, and monitor progress on initiatives.
MONITOR AND REPORT ON HEALTH & SAFETY PERFORMANCE
Maintain key performance indicators (KPIs), including accurate records of workplace safety incidents, to evaluate the effectiveness of health and safety programs.
Prepare reports and summaries as required, ensuring data accuracy and providing actionable insights.
Analyze data to identify trends and support continuous improvement initiatives.
 
An experienced professional with specialized expertise in health and safety management or a related field.
A strong understanding of relevant health and safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
Experience contributing to health and safety projects and initiatives of moderate complexity.
The ability to manage assignments independently, seeking guidance on an ad hoc basis when necessary.
Strong analytical skills, including the ability to assess risks and interpret data.
Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with team members and internal stakeholders.
Familiarity with incident management systems and risk assessment tools.
The ability to recommend and implement improvements to health and safety practices.
A commitment to continuous learning and ongoing improvement in health and safety practices.
This position is open to U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or individuals who are currently authorized to work in the United States on a valid visa.
The base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 + cash incentives. Actual salary offers may vary based on work experience. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified.
