Job Description

Senior Manager, Alliance Management - Institutional & Health System Research Partnerships

Position Summary:

The Senior Manager, Alliance Management will support and execute Natera’s research collaborations with academic medical centers, integrated health systems, hospital networks, and institutional research organizations. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Alliance Management, this role is responsible for the operational management and execution of complex institutional partnerships that support evidence generation, data sharing, biobanking initiatives, investigator-initiated studies (IIS), and real-world evidence (RWE) programs.

This role is well suited for candidates with direct experience working with health systems or academic institutions and a strong understanding of how research is conducted, governed, and operationalized within those environments.

This is a highly hands-on role that requires direct ownership of execution, documentation, coordination, and follow-through across multiple active partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational & Contracting Execution

• Support contracting and amendment processes by managing end-to-end operational workflows.

• Oversee contract lifecycle management, including document tracking, internal approvals, signature routing, filing, and renewals.

• Maintain tools, dashboards, and trackers to monitor contract status, obligations, timelines, and deliverables.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of agreements, study status, and partnership documentation.

• Track commitments, milestones, and deliverables to ensure accountability and partner satisfaction.

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Coordinate closely with internal stakeholders including Medical Affairs, Clinical Trials, Business Development, Regulatory, Legal, R&D, and Data Science.

• Manage internal review processes to ensure alignment on scope, timelines, compliance, and data access.

• Facilitate clear communication across functions to support deal execution and post-deal implementation.

• Support partnership governance activities, including preparation for Joint Steering Committees (JSCs), working groups, and routine partner touchpoints.

• Provide informal mentorship or project leadership to junior team members or cross-functional contributors, as needed.

Program & Study Support

• Support execution of collaborative studies, IIS programs, RWE initiatives, and data-sharing efforts.

• Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of study milestones and partnership commitments.

• Identify execution risks or operational challenges and proactively escalate issues with recommended solutions.

Scientific & Data Enablement

• Assist in the development and execution of joint research plans and evidence-generation strategies.

• Support publication and dissemination activities, including abstract tracking, manuscript coordination, and timeline management.

Process Improvement & Scaling

• Contribute to the development of standardized alliance management tools, templates, and playbooks.

• Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, scalability, and compliance.

• Support the scaling of repeatable partnership models across a growing institutional collaboration portfolio.

Required Qualifications:

• 5-8+ years of experience in alliance management, research operations, academic–industry partnerships, or clinical research.

• Demonstrated experience working directly with health systems or hospital-based research programs (required).

• Strong understanding of institutional research environments, including IRBs, contracts, data governance, and publication processes.

• Experience supporting investigator-initiated studies, collaborative research, or real-world evidence programs.

• PMP certification or equivalent project management credential preferred.

Note: Candidates whose experience is exclusively within commercial pharmaceutical

partnerships and who lack direct health system or academic research experience may not be a

fit for this role.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in genomics, molecular diagnostics, precision medicine, or population health.

• Experience working with clinical, genomic, or EMR data in a research or evidence-generation context.
