Position Details:
Job Title: Sr Linux/Unix Administrator
Location: Augusta ME 04333
Duration: 12+ months (Strong possibility for an extension)
Project Name: Rule Engine implementation
An additional UNIX contractor is needed to support the project work within the core UNIX hosting team. The job is supporting our UNIX hosting environment and will be specifically participate in standing up the Oracle VM running Oracle Enterprise Linux that will run OPA our Enterprise Environment.
Job Description:
· Responsible for installation and configuration of Linux, Solaris & Oracle VM hosts on commodity hardware and Oracle Exadata & Exalogic systems running in clustered and non-clustered configurations.
· Maintenance, patching, security best practices for Linux/Unix environments
· Performance tuning of Linux/Unix hosts
· Troubleshoot techniques for break fixes, performance, and normal deployments
Previous Experience Required:
· Oracle VM, running in both an active-active and active-passive configuration - 5 years
· Fluent English communication - 5 years
· RHEL 6 & 7 and/or OEL 6 & 7 - 5 years
· Linux/Unix infrastructure design, installation, upgrade and security - 5 years
· Linux/Unix backup & recovery procedures, access security - 10 years
· Linux/Unix tuning - 10 years
· Oracle OVM experience - 5 years
· Oracle EM Grid Control - 5 years
· Linux - 10 years
· ExaLogic/ExaData hardware - 5 years
· Linux/Unix shell scripting - 10 years
· Skilled in Linux/Unix utilities (e.g. ps, grep, netstat, etc.)
· Operating system patching
· Operating System upgrades (e.g. RHEL 6 -> RHEL 7, Solaris 10 -> Solaris 11)
· System monitoring & alerting techniques
· System backup and recovery strategies
· Extensive knowledge of Linux and Solaris Operating Environments
· Familiarity with DevOps and Configuration Management Concepts
· Operating system: Linux, Solaris, Oracle VM, REQUIRED
· Programming Language/Development Tools: Linux/Unix shell scripting
· Frameworks/SLD's/Methodologies: RAC, ASM, RMAN, OEM Grid Control, DevOps / Cloud Methodologies, Chef
