Job Summary

As a Senior Java Backend Engineer, you will build, and maintain backend services with high scalability, reliability, and maintainability. You will develop microservices, APIs, and cloud-native components, working closely with cross-functional teams to evolve the platform. The role focuses on hands-on development, problem-solving, and delivering high-quality backend software.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Develop backend applications using Java, Spring, Spring Boot, and related technologies;

• Develop and maintain application code running on containerized environments, including Kubernetes clusters (EKS or similar), focusing only on application behavior and runtime;

• Write unit, integration, and performance tests to ensure reliability, correctness, and stability;

• Contribute to architectural discussions related to backend design, performance, data models, and service interactions;

• Collaborate with product, QA, and other engineering teams to deliver features end-to-end;

• Participate in code reviews and support best practices related to clean code, maintainability, and security;

• Produce clear and concise technical documentation for services and APIs.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in Java (preferably Java 17+);

• Solid hands-on experience running and debugging applications in Kubernetes environments;

• Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB;

• Strong experience with Spring and Spring Boot;

• Solid understanding of JPA/Hibernate and ORM patterns;

• Experience with microservices, distributed systems, and asynchronous processing;

• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL.

Highly Desirable Skills

• Kubernetes Certification: Application Developer | Clour Native Associate;

• Kakfa experience

• Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban;

• Familiarity with monitoring and troubleshooting application behavior (logs, metrics, tracing tools).
