JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Senior Manager, People & Culture, the Sr. Generalist, People & Culture will play a pivotal role in supporting our human resources functions, ensuring a conducive and harmonious work environment for our employees. You will handle various People & Culture activities encompassing training, compensation, employee relations, policy development, and company-wide initiatives.
This is a maternity leave contract for 12 months effective from July 2026 onwards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead recruitment activities including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, reference checks, onboarding, and participation in job fairs to support workforce planning and talent acquisition goals
Provide guidance and support to management in handling disciplinary actions and resolving employee relations issues in accordance with company policies and legal regulations.
Conduct thorough investigations into employee complaints, conflicts, or policy violations, maintaining objectivity and confidentiality throughout the process.
Oversee and maintain the integrity, functionality, and data accuracy of the HRIS system; generate reports and analytics to support strategic People & Culture planning and decision-making.
Manage and coordinate non-work-related accommodation requests and leaves of absence (e.g., medical, personal, family-related), ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and internal policies while supporting employee well-being and operational continuity
Handles termination related matters, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements while mitigating potential risks.
Assist in implementing and administering performance management programs, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and feedback mechanisms.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support various company-wide initiatives and projects, leveraging People & Culture expertise to achieve organizational goals.
Lead and support community outreach initiatives by partnering with local organizations, attending career fairs, and promoting the company’s employer brand to enhance recruitment efforts and community engagement.
Support the development and execution of employee engagement initiatives, including identifying improvement areas, conducting surveys and exit interviews analyzing results, and communicating findings to Senior Management and staff
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS (OR KEY SKILLS, COMPETENCIES)
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field; HR/P&C certification (e.g., CPHR) is an asset
5+ years of hands-on experience within HR/P&C roles, with demonstrated proficiency in employee relations, training facilitation, and HR/P&C best practices.
Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.
Proficiency in HRIS and other relevant software (MS Office Suite, ADP, BambooHR).
Ability to pivot and adapt to changing environments in a fast-paced setting.
