Sr Database Administrator

WHO YOU ARE:

Sr. Database Administrator is responsible for the stability, security, monitoring and performance of database platforms. End-to-end systems management and technology governance of Zinnia platforms, including administration, security and audit. We are looking for people with the talent, drive, and positive attitude, as well as experience with Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Serve as a senior administrator of a database platform, working closely with application teams to support their needs both on projects and in ongoing run support.

• Collaboratively foster development between multi-functional IT teams.

• Coordinate with DBA support personnel with direction from the Lead DBA.

• Ensure adequate run support for DBA environments.

• Serve as Subject Matter Lead for Microsoft SQL.

• Consult with Lead DBA regarding department standards and processes and create controls to enforce them.

• Assist IT and Business teams on new system implementation.

• Ensure appropriate backup and restore processes are conducted and available to meet business requirements and SLAs.

• Participate in disaster recovery configuration and testing

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any), or a related field.

• Minimum 8 years of experience as a relational database administrator with experience/expertise in:

• Microsoft SQL Server (all versions)

• Availability group configuration and administration

• Microsoft Windows experience

• Microsoft SQL performance tuning

• Progressively responsible experience in Microsoft SQL, basic DBA systems management, security concepts (authentication, authorization, encryption and digital signature), SSL, firewalls, storage and networking integration.

• Experience planning, testing, monitoring, troubleshooting.

• PostgreSQL experience

• Database cloning
