We are looking for a Senior Corporate Accountant in the United States to be employed by our US branch to manage the books and financial reporting for a new line of business in the Cayman Islands. This role reports to the Corporate Controller. You will be responsible for booking all journal entries for three entities, managing accounts payable for three entities, monthly reporting and analysis, year-end IFRS financial statement preparation, and managing the year-end audit. The successful candidate will be a key part of the finance team and will provide critical insights for the strategic decision-making team. WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
Manage all accounting entries including management of accounts payable
Manage month-end and year-end closing processes
Prepare monthly financial reports with detailed variance analysis to provide key insights to Senior management
Prepare annual audited financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS
Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits
Develop and implement robust internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records
Stay updated on accounting standards, regulations, and industry best practices
Ad hoc reporting duties as requested
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Minimum 4-6 years’ experience in corporate accounting preferably within the investment fund industry
Experience with monthly financial reporting and analysis
Undergraduate degree with a focus on Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Accounting or commerce; CPA or equivalent certification
Strong knowledge of IFRS accounting principles and practices
Exceptional Microsoft Excel skills are essential along with excellent working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite of products
Experience dealing with audits is preferred but not mandatory
Exceptional ability to be highly collaborative and flexible in a very dynamic environment
Excellent attention to detail
Analytical and problem-solving skills that are above average
Proficiency in accounting software (Netsuite or Quickbooks is preferred)
