The Senior Associate, New Transaction Integration is accountable for executing and owning key aspects of the financial integration of new transactions, from initial accounting assessment through post-close stabilization. Reporting to the SVP or VP, New Transactions Finance Integration, this role independently drives complex workstreams spanning accounting analysis, financial reporting, audit readiness, internal controls, and financial systems integration.
This position ensures new transactions are implemented accurately and on schedule across financial systems, including general ledger, reinsurance, and investment platforms. The role applies advanced technical knowledge and sound judgment to resolve complex issues, make decisions within established governance, and improve integration frameworks to prevent recurrence of issues.
The Senior Associate leads day-to-day cross-functional coordination and is responsible for delivering standardized integration outputs that align with accounting policy, internal control requirements, and organizational objectives.
What You Will Do:
Financial Systems, Reporting & Controls
•
Own the documentation, assessment, and testing of General Ledger (GL) changes across multiple accounting bases (e.g., US GAAP, US STAT, Management, Bermuda SFS/EBS), ensuring stakeholder alignment with Accounting Policy, Controllers, and Finance Transformation.
•
Prepare and review complex journal entries, including revenue/cost structures and profit center mapping, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and appropriate approvals.
•
Determine reporting and disclosure requirements for new transactions and legal entities, and ensure timely implementation to meet internal and external deadlines.
•
Reconcile transaction data across financial statements, actuarial models, and reporting systems; investigate variances and drive resolution to closure.
•
Identify internal control impacts of new transactions and execute control design and implementation activities to support audit readiness.
Project & Integration Management
•
Lead and own integration workstreams across multiple transaction types, ensuring deliverables align to the overall business integration plan.
•
Build, maintain, and execute detailed project plans; manage milestones, risks, and dependencies, and ensure on-time, in-scope delivery.
•
Drive cross-functional execution with finance, accounting, operations, actuarial, and technology teams to deliver integrated solutions and remove blockers.
•
Maintain and enhance the integration “playbook,” ensuring updates are documented, communicated, and adopted to improve consistency and efficiency.
•
Deliver clear status reporting; escalate risks early with recommended mitigation plans and decision points.
•
Provide targeted guidance and/or quality review for less experienced team members on defined deliverables or processes, as needed.
What You Will Have:
•
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CA preferred.
•
5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, audit, or financial operations, preferably within the (re)insurance industry.
•
Strong knowledge of US GAAP, US STAT, SFS, and EBS accounting frameworks.
•
Demonstrated experience independently preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analyses.
•
Experience working with complex transactions, legal entity structures, or reinsurance/accounting operations.
•
Solid understanding of financial close processes, controls, and ledger integrity.
•
Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial systems (e.g., SAP, Workday) and reporting tools (e.g., Workiva, Power BI, Coupa).
•
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work through ambiguity and apply judgment to complex issues.
•
Effective communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and escalate issues appropriately.
•
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and operate independently with limited supervision.
•
Experience contributing to process improvements, standardization, or automation initiatives.
•
Ability to collaborate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adapt to evolving business needs.
