Sr Applications Engineer – Multiphase DC/DC

• Serve as the primary technical interface to FAE’s and customers for design-in activities, including requirements discovery, solution recommendation, and technical risk assessment.
• Lead customer debug and issue-resolution efforts: reproduce issues in the lab, perform root-cause analysis, drive cross-functional escalation, and provide timely status updates and corrective action plans.
• Plan and execute product validation and characterization to demonstrate performance, robustness, and compliance to customer use-cases (efficiency, transient response, loop stability, thermal, protection features, and system-level interactions).
• Develop, validate, and maintain evaluation boards and reference designs (schematic, layout review, BOM optimization), and provide clear setup guidance to enable rapid customer evaluation.
• Collaborate with Product Engineering, R&D, Firmware, and Marketing to translate customer requirements into product features, configuration options, and roadmap feedback.
• Develop test plans, automate bench measurements where applicable (Python/C), analyze data, and generate concise reports to support internal release decisions and customer communications.
• Provide remote and on-site technical support including customer calls, design reviews, and power-architecture discussions; deliver technical presentations and training to FAE’s and customers as needed.
• Create and review customer-facing collateral such as datasheets, application notes, user guides, design guidelines, and troubleshooting FAQs; ensure technical accuracy and clarity.
• Support silicon bring-up and customer configuration (GUI/firmware/PMBus as applicable), including loop compensation guidance, sequencing, telemetry setup, and performance tuning for target processors/ASIC’s.
• Capture lessons learned from customer engagements and validation results; maintain internal knowledge and best practices to improve response time and solution quality across the team.

• BS+5 or MS+3 in Engineering or technical equivalent in the power management industry
• Experience with multiphase DC/DC converters
• Experience with digitally enabled power management products.
• Understanding of control loop theory and its application in power converters
• Proficiency with a full complement of lab equipment including network analyzers, oscilloscopes and waveform generators.  Experience with automation of lab testing.
• Proficiency in Python, C or other programming language
• Proficiency in data analysis using Excel or JMP
• Must possess excellent communications skills, both oral and written.
