Sr.Analyst Article Master Data Management

Metro Global Solution Center (MGSC) is internal solution partner for METRO, a €31 Billion international wholesaler with operations in more than 30 countries. The store network comprises a total of 623 stores in 21 countries, of which 522 offer out-of-store delivery (OOS), and 94 dedicated depots. In 12 countries, METRO runs only the delivery business by its delivery companies (Food Service Distribution, FSD). 

 

HoReCa and Traders are core customer groups of METRO. The HoReCa section includes hotels, restaurants, catering companies as well as bars, cafés and canteen operators. The Traders section includes small grocery stores and kiosks. The majority of all customer groups are small and medium-sized enterprises as well as sole traders. METRO helps them manage their business challenges more effectively. 

 

MGSC, location wise is present in Pune (India), Düsseldorf (Germany) and Szczecin (Poland). We provide HR, Finance, IT & Business operations support to 31 countries, speak 24+ languages and process over 18,000 transactions a day. • Ability to mentor and guide junior team members, fostering knowledge-sharing and skill development in Article Master Data processes.
• Experience in managing data requests, SLA adherence, and handling escalations effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills to analyze data discrepancies, troubleshoot issues, and drive process improvements.
• Capability to coordinate with global teams and stakeholders to ensure consistency in Article Master Data operations.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and adaptation to evolving business and market requirements.
• Hands-on experience with SAP MDG, SAP S/4HANA, or Oracle ERP for managing Article Master Data.
• Expertise in data validation, cleansing, and enrichment techniques to maintain data integrity.

• Understanding of classification structures, attributes, pricing, and specifications in Article Master Data.
• Familiarity with workflow management systems and ticketing tools for handling Article Master Data requests and changes.

• Expertise in Article Master Data governance, ensuring alignment with business and compliance standards.
• Strong understanding of product hierarchies, attributes, and dependencies in Article Master Data.
• Ability to interpret business requirements and ensure data consistency across systems.
• Experience in maintaining article descriptions, classifications, and lifecycle status updates.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to enhance efficiency in Article Master Data operations.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain or a related field.
• Certification in SAP MDG is an added advantage (not mandatory).
• SAP Functional certification (End User level) is preferred (not mandatory).

• 4 to 6 years of experience in Article Master Data Management within a data operations environment.
• Hands-on experience in end-to-end Article Master Data lifecycle management, including creation, modification, validation, and maintenance.
• Proficiency in working with SAP MDG, SAP S/4HANA, or Oracle ERP systems for Article Master Data management.
• Strong expertise in ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and completeness in Article Master Data records.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Merchandising, Supply Chain, Pricing, and IT to align Article Master Data processes with business needs.
• Adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
• Proven ability to conduct root cause analysis for data quality issues and implement corrective actions.
