RMC is currently seeking a SQL Database Administrator to support our government clients located in Dahlgren, VA. The successful candidate will operate in a dynamic environment, performing tasks such as upgrades and migrations; instance and database hardening; supporting system accreditation processes; application and database troubleshooting; conducting code reviews, including assessing the impact of utilizing stored procedures and constraints to enforce business rules; database design and development; performance optimization; and recommending and implementing process improvement technologies.
Requirements:
• 5 years DBA experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2008R2–2019) and Azure SQL Database in various environments.
• 2 years experience with high availability solutions including Failover Cluster and Always-On.
• Skilled in SQL Server troubleshooting, performance tuning, monitoring, and issue resolution using tools like extended events and SQL Profiler.
• Experience supporting databases on virtual platforms and proficiency in query, index, DB I/O tuning, Stored Procedures, T-SQL, and PowerShell.
• Knowledge of disaster recovery planning, testing, backup/restore, and recovery models.
• Ability to detect and resolve resource contention issues (CPU, memory, I/O, disk).
• Familiarity with secure build practices aligned with DISA STIG and multiple IT/cloud environments.
• Experience with backups, restores, DB maintenance, clustering, mirroring, and replication.
• Maintains database security, patching vulnerabilities, and remediation.
• Experience with Azure Cloud and database services on Windows and Linux.
• Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and teamwork abilities.
• Certifications required: DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 or 3 (Security+ CE, CASP, CISSP) and MS Azure Database Administrator Associate (DP-300).
• Security Clearance: Interim DoD Secret required at start; must obtain Top-Secret clearance and meet classified information eligibility.

Salary at RMC is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, a candidate's specific combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific requirements. The current salary range for this position will be $90,000 to $125,000 (annually).
