Position Overview:
The Sponsorship Coordinator is responsible for independently managing the organization’s sponsorship pipeline from prospect identification to solicitation, closing, and stewardship. This role owns the execution and performance of the sponsorship program and is accountable for meeting defined revenue and activity targets.
This position requires a self-directed professional who can operate with minimal supervision, apply feedback quickly, and confidently lead sponsorship conversations through to commitment. The ideal candidate is a results-driven, outgoing, and motivated professional with experience in sales, fundraising, or business development. They are confident in making cold calls, presenting to prospective sponsors, and managing a growing pipeline of leads.
Success in this position will be evaluated based on:
Consistent progress through the full sponsorship sales cycle
Accuracy and timeliness of reporting and CRM documentation
Professional quality of written proposals and communications
Achievement of quarterly revenue and activity benchmarks

The Sponsorship Coordinator works closely with the Development Director to support development initiatives that advance the York County SPCA’s strategic priorities.
Essential Functions:
Primary Responsibilities
Identify and cultivate a pipeline of sponsorship prospects through research, cold calls, electronic communication, and in-person visits.
Drive prospects through the full sales cycle, including discovery, proposal development, negotiation, and closing.
Schedule in-person tours of the York County SPCA to engage prospective sponsors.
Manage all post‑tour follow‑up to cultivate donor relationships and secure financial commitments.
Maintain real-time, accurate documentation of all prospect activity, proposals, revenue, and sponsor benefits in Bloomerang and internal tracking systems; provide regular performance reports to leadership.
Collaborate with the Development Coordinator and Communications Department to ensure timely delivery of sponsorship invoices, benefits and recognition.
Independently manage ongoing communication and stewardship for existing sponsors to encourage renewal and upgrade opportunities.
Meet or exceed monthly outreach goals (e.g., call volume, meetings set, proposals delivered).
Generate a minimum of $400,000 in revenue within 18 months of hire.
Represent the York County SPCA at community events and networking opportunities as needed.
Integrate York County SPCA values into all job responsibilities.
Complete other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Required:
Two or more years of experience in sales, fundraising, or business development with direct responsibility for securing financial commitments or contracts.
Preferred:
A bachelor’s degree in related fields such as communications, sales, or business.
A track record of securing major gifts from identification through cultivation and solicitation.
Experience with CRM systems is a plus (Bloomerang preferred).

Working Conditions and Expectation:
The position typically works Monday through Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm, except for special events. The York County SPCA will provide a flexible work schedule to compensate for evening and weekend work to ensure a healthy work/life balance.
Standard office environment, with exposure to environmental conditions that include working near and potentially caring for animals.
Willingness and ability to travel in a personal vehicle around the York County area.
Salary and Benefits
$40,000 per year, paid biweekly, direct deposit available.
Up to $20,000 in annual bonus potential based on performance metrics and overall job outcomes. Performance bonuses awarded quarterly based on performance tracking scorecard results.
The York County SPCA offers retirement benefits with a dollar-for-dollar match up to a maximum of three percent (3%) of your salary per year. The organization offers a SIMPLE IRA.
Health insurance allowance provided with the option to select an individual plan.
Company paid dental and vision insurance.
Short-term disability and life insurance are offered as company paid benefits.
216 hours of Paid Time Off (27 eight-hour days) plus six holidays.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand, walk, sit, talk and hear, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, grasp, grip, put fingers together firmly and reach above and below shoulder level and lift, push or pull 40 pounds for situations of moving and lifting materials or supplies, repetitively use hands to operate computers; flex the neck upward and downward; twist the neck and the waist.
