About Ruth & Naomi’s Mission
Ruth & Naomi’s Mission has been serving the Chilliwack community for over 20 years. What began as handing out sandwiches in downtown Chilliwack has grown into a multi-site organization with over 100 staff, providing shelter, meals, and recovery programming to hundreds of individuals each day.
We are a Christian faith-based organization committed to walking alongside people on their journey of recovery and transformation, demonstrating the love of Jesus in practical and relational ways.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Spiritual Care Coordinator to provide leadership and support for Christian spiritual care across our shelters and recovery programs. This role plays a vital part in fostering holistic care by addressing the spiritual needs of participants, staff, and volunteers while upholding our Christian values in a compassionate, inclusive, and respectful manner.
Lived experience is considered a strong asset.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct spiritual support, guidance, and care to participants, staff, and volunteers
Coordinate chaplaincy services, including scheduling, training, and program delivery
Plan and coordinate chapels and Recovery Church programming
Recruit, train, and support volunteers engaged in spiritual care initiatives
Build and maintain partnerships with local churches, faith communities, and spiritual leaders
Deliver spiritual training opportunities for staff and volunteers
Integrate Christian principles into programming while respecting individual beliefs and dignity
Collaborate with internal teams to identify spiritual care needs and opportunities
Maintain accurate records and reporting related to spiritual care and volunteer engagement
Work collaboratively with the Development team on external events, including (but not limited to) the Not Forgotten Memorial
What You Bring
Education & Experience
Grade 12 or equivalent required
Post-secondary education in Theology, Divinity, Chaplaincy, Spiritual Care, Pastoral Counselling, or a related field is preferred
Certification or formal training in Chaplaincy, Spiritual Care, or Pastoral Counselling is an asset
Minimum 1 year of experience providing spiritual care, counselling, or guidance (experience in shelters, recovery, or social services is an asset)
Skills & Attributes

Compassionate, empathetic, and integrity-driven
Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working independently and as part of a team

Compensation & Benefits
Wage Band: $65,000–$72,000, dependent on experience
Employer-paid extended health benefits after probation

Work Environment
Full-time, in-office position, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm (additional hours as required)
Standing and/or sitting required while working at a desk or computer
Travel between Ruth & Naomi’s locations in Chilliwack required
