Full-Time | Days | Rotating Weekends
Annual Compensation
• Minimum: $74,401 annually (entry level)
• Mid-Range (10 years): $93,005 annually
• Maximum (16+ years): $102,294 annually
• Sign-On Bonus: $10,000
• Relocation Assistance: Case-by-case basis
(Annualized based on full-time equivalent hours.)
Position Overview
We are seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide inpatient acute care services within a 523-bed comprehensive medical center in Gainesville, Florida.
This role focuses on evaluation and treatment of communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders, including instrumental swallow assessments. The SLP works collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff, and rehabilitation teams to support patient recovery and safe discharge planning.
Key Responsibilities
• Evaluate speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing function using standardized tools and clinical observation.
• Perform and interpret Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBS) and/or Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) as indicated.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practice.
• Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries accurately and timely.
• Educate patients and families on therapy goals, swallowing precautions, and home strategies.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical program development.
• Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Active State of Florida SLP license.
• Minimum of 1 year of Speech-Language Pathology experience.
• Experience with MBS and/or FEES strongly preferred.
