The Toronto Blue Jays are looking for a Specialist, Promotions & Theme Day Activations.
As a member of the Fan Experience Department of the Toronto Blue Jays, this full-time position is responsible for executing and assisting with promotions, giveaways, event activation and in-game entertainment elements, in addition to supporting with all vendor management. The incumbent will report directly to the Sr. Manager, Promotions & Theme Day Activations and will assist in elevating and improving our fan experience each season. Key Responsibilities
Support with the planning and execution of all Blue Jays promotional programming, events and theme days to create a best-in-class, cohesive fan experience for fans throughout the ballpark
Work alongside the Sr. Manager, Promotions & Theme Day Activations and the entire Promotions Team on the planning and execution of promotions, theme days and fan activations while continuously pushing creativity to get better through every event
Work closely and collaboratively with many teams across the ballpark to plan and execute each promotion, while ensuring everything is in line with the TBJ brand
Oversee concourse activations for each theme day, promotion and partnership activation
Work closely with the Supervisor, Activation Team to ensure all details have been communicated and create the setup, activation and strike plans for every event
Responsible for the creation of all gameday documents for each homestand, including homestand information sheets, Ballpark Operation forms, vendor movements, run of shows, etc.
Management and coordination of external vendors with a focus on sourcing, quoting, designing, logistics, invoicing and day-to-day management of the relationship with each vendor
Management and inventory of all event storage and organization throughout the ballpark
Oversee the coordination of requests of smaller scale product orders including prizing, swag items and theme day uniforms for staff
Ability to understand and contribute to the Promotions strategy at a high level, focusing on the big picture while bringing creative ideas to the team to improve fan experience
Organize presentation decks of all promotions to assist in the sales and promotion of items year to year & lead the annual research into other teams and brands for best practice in sports and live event promotions
Support on Rogers Centre concerts & events as required
Skills and Qualifications
3-5 years work experience in Promotions or Marketing preferred
Post-secondary education preferred in Marketing, Events, Communications or Sport Management
Knowledge of the game of baseball and the Toronto Blue Jays is required
Previous experience with coordinating events and programs an asset
Previous experience working with vendors and coordinating large product orders
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Attention to detail, with a critical eye for quality and accuracy an asset
Team oriented and ability to collaborate across many internal departments
Experience in customer service an asset
Creative, assertive, confident, and results-oriented
Must be capable to deliver in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to sustain long physical days
Applicants must be willing and able to work all 81 Blue Jays home games, including non-traditional hours, evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
Salary: The anticipated base compensation range for this role is $64,000 – $70,000. Actual base pay offered within this range may differ based on a range of factors, including individual experience, education, skills, and organizational needs.
