We are seeking a Spa Therapist (Freelancer) to join our dynamic team and play a key role in supporting the Spa function within our organisation. Role Overview:
The Spa Therapist (Freelancer) is a Freelance Contractor that will be contacted on an as needed (on-call) basis and would be required to have availability to work all shifts on all days of the week. The Spa Therapist works closely with the Spa Concierge and additionally reports to the Spa Supervisor and Spa Manager. The key role of a Spa Therapist is to deliver professional, therapeutic, and rejuvenating massage therapies, body treatments, skincare, and nail care to the spa guests. She/He is also responsible for ensuring that the spa rooms and environment is kept clean and tidy, that all SOP’s are always followed, and that each guest receives an optimal spa experience. She/He is additionally responsible for providing each spa guest with a helpful and positive presence and attitude and seeing that all spa guests’ needs are anticipated, met, and exceeded with a productive response. She/He will also be expected to carry out any other duties as requested by management.
Main Key Responsibilities:
Deliver consistent, high-quality service in line with established safety protocols and guest satisfaction standards.
Greet and interact with guests in a professional, courteous, and welcoming manner.
Assess guest needs by understanding preferences, health considerations, and treatment requirements.
Perform spa treatments in accordance with established guidelines, standards, and draping policies.
Maintain thorough knowledge of spa services, products, equipment, and pricing.
Ensure treatment rooms and work areas are clean, organised, fully stocked, and prepared before and after services.
Accurately document guest information, including health concerns and treatment notes, within the spa system.
Communicate effectively with team members and Spa Concierge to support seamless operations and guest care.
Promote spa products and retail offerings to guests and support achievement of sales targets.
Comply with all departmental policies, procedures, and safe work practices, while reporting maintenance or supply needs promptly.
Other duties and jobs may be assigned as needed by the Spa Management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
2 years resort/hotel spa experience or related field.
High school diploma or equal to a GED.
Certification in Beauty Therapy, Massage Therapy, Nail Care and or Skin Care.
Desired Qualities:
Valid CPR, First Aid, Health & Safety Certification would be an asset.
Excellent verbal and communication skills.
Must be adaptable to change and be able to multitask calmly and efficiently, with an emphasis on follow up, cooperation, and courtesy.
Knowledgeable of the spa environment and experience.
Outstanding interpersonal, guest service, listening, and problem-solving skills.
Must be highly organized and detail oriented.
Must be able to lift up to and in excess of 25 lbs.
Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
