The Opportunity
We’re looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our sow farm team. This role plays a vital part in keeping the barns, equipment, and farm systems operating efficiently. This role is the go-to resource for troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance – helping ensure a safe, efficient environment for both livestock and employees.
Essential Functions
Perform routine and emergency maintenance on farm facilities and systems, including ventilation, heaters, feeders, water lines, and curtain controllers.
Diagnose and resolve electrical, plumbing, and mechanical issues.
Complete preventative maintenance schedules on equipment and barn systems.
Maintain tools, shop organization, and parts inventory.
Collaborate with farm managers and production staff to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime.
Assist with special projects such as new equipment installations, remodels, and system upgrades.
Follow all safety and biosecurity protocols in every task.
Qualifications
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge in areas such as electrical, HVAC, plumbing, welding, fabrication, and equipment operation.
Ability to work independently while balancing multiple priorities.
Valid U.S. Driver's License
Comfortable working in an agricultural environment
Experience with electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems preferred
Welding, fabrication, and equipment operation experience a plus

Physical Demands/Work Environment:
This position requires standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in a barn environment with exposure to strong odors, animal waste, disinfectants, dust, and loud noise. Candidates must be able to perform these essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
