We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Sourcing Engineer with 1–5 years of experience to join our procurement and supply chain team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying reliable suppliers, managing sourcing activities, handling RFQs (Request for Quotations), and supporting procurement operations for manufacturing-related projects and components.
The candidate should possess strong analytical skills, vendor management capabilities, and an understanding of manufacturing processes and procurement practices. This role requires close coordination with internal stakeholders such as engineering, production, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure timely sourcing and cost-effective procurement solutions.
Requirements:
Key Responsibilities
• Manage end-to-end sourcing activities for manufacturing components, raw materials, and engineering products.
• Prepare and float RFQs (Request for Quotations) to suppliers and vendors based on project and production requirements.
• Evaluate supplier quotations based on pricing, quality, delivery timelines, technical compliance, and commercial terms.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers to ensure uninterrupted supply and competitive pricing.
• Coordinate with engineering and production teams to understand technical specifications and sourcing requirements.
• Conduct supplier comparisons, negotiations, and commercial discussions to achieve cost optimization.
• Support procurement planning and ensure timely material availability for manufacturing operations.
• Track RFQ responses, maintain sourcing documentation, and update procurement records accurately.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve supplier-related issues, delivery delays, or quality concerns.
• Identify opportunities for vendor development, alternate sourcing, and process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, quality standards, and delivery commitments.
• Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and material pricing to support strategic sourcing decisions.
Required Skills
• Good understanding of sourcing and procurement processes.
• Experience in handling RFQs and supplier quotation analysis.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, industrial components, or engineering products.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings.
• Good communication and coordination abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and procurement documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
Good-to-Have Skills
• Exposure to manufacturing industry sourcing practices.
• Familiarity with ERP systems or procurement tools.
• Understanding of supply chain and inventory management concepts.
• Experience in cost reduction and vendor development initiatives.
Educational Qualification
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Additional certification in procurement or supply chain management will be an advantage.
Experience
• 1 to 5 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, vendor management, or supply chain operations.
• Experience in manufacturing or engineering industries is preferred.
