About the Role:
We are seeking a hands-on and driven Solutions Integration Lead to take ownership of all integration and implementation activity across our acquiring and EMI business. This is a critical role responsible for leading major projects such as processor migrations, new partner integrations, and platform upgrades, while building robust processes and standards to support our growth.
Main responsibilities
Own and manage end-to-end client integrations, from initial onboarding to live operations
Support customers during setup across various platforms and systems, ensuring correct configurations and adherence to card scheme requirements
Guide clients through API usage, testing procedures, and transaction flows to ensure seamless implementation
Collaborate with internal teams (Product, Compliance, Support, and Tech) to deliver integrated, stable, and compliant solutions
Troubleshoot complex client-facing issues, including transaction errors, approval ratio concerns and messaging mismatches, coordinating resolution across teams as needed
Configure MIDs, routing logic, and transactional setups in line with business rules and scheme regulations
Act as a key customer contact during onboarding, offering proactive guidance, training, and documentation to streamline adoption
Monitor integration progress and ensure timely go-lives, aligning with internal project managers where applicable
Maintain a deep understanding of scheme requirements (VISA, Mastercard) and other alternative payment methods as applicable to help clients optimize performance and compliance
Document integration processes, feedback loops, and best practices to support internal knowledge sharing and operational efficiency.
Contribute to ongoing improvements in onboarding workflows, tools, and templates based on client experience and feedback.
Key Requirements
Must be based in Malta
3+ years' experience in client onboarding, integration or implementation roles within payments, acquiring, fintech or related financial services
Solid understanding of card scheme regulations (e.g. Visa, Mastercard), including topics such as approval ratios, transaction routing, interchange, fraud rules, and scheme compliance
Familiarity with Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) under PSD2 and related 3-D Secure (3DS) protocols, including exemptions and impact on approval performance
Experience working with API integrations, webhooks, and data mapping in a support or configuration capacity (hands-on coding not required)
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to identify root causes of failed transactions, declines, or setup inconsistencies
Experience configuring MIDs, BIN routing, acquirer settings, and other acquiring-side parameters
Comfort engaging directly with external partners, merchants, and clients on both technical and operational topics
Knowledge of payment flows (auth, capture, refund, void) and ability to translate these into business- and customer-friendly explanations
Familiarity with PCI-DSS concepts, tokenization, and transaction security standards is a plus
Strong written and verbal communication skills; capable of producing clear documentation, guidance, and reports
Highly organized and self-driven, able to manage multiple client-facing tasks and priorities across time zones
