About This Role:

We are looking for a Solution Architect to join our Technology team in Berlin. At Atolls, your role will be instrumental in helping product teams design scalable, secure, and future-ready solutions that align with our long-term technology vision.

As a connector between strategy and execution, you’ll guide teams in making the right architectural choices, ensuring our platforms evolve sustainably while delivering exceptional user experiences and empowering consumers to make confident shopping decisions.

Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

• Design and evaluate solution architectures for diverse business services across our product portfolio

• Ensure alignment of architectural decisions with global software architecture and technology strategy

• Guide teams in making scalable, cost-efficient, and secure design choices based on business context

• Champion standards by embedding security, architectural patterns, best practices, and approved technologies into solutions

• Mentor and support development teams on architectural principles and best practices

Your Profile:

We’re looking for someone with strong solution architecture experience, who enjoys bridging business needs with technology decisions and driving sustainable, high-quality system design.

Technical Skills:

• Experience across one or more domains: software development, cloud computing, infrastructure, or data & analytics

• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including security

• Knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases and storage systems

• Hands-on development background in Node.js, Java, Python, or PHP

• Experience with Domain-Driven Design, Microservices, and Event-Driven Architectures

• Ability to assess system load, cost, data usage patterns, integrations, and reusability

• Previous experience as part of an architecture team is a plus.

Soft Skills:

• Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills

• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

• Strategic thinking with a solid understanding of business fundamentals

• Curiosity and adaptability when exploring new technologies and practices

• Mentorship mindset and collaborative approach

Language requirements:

• Professional proficiency in English
