Solicitor - Corporate and Commercial

The role

An opportunity has arisen for a solicitor to join our leading corporate and commercial team based in Auckland. 

This part of our team is led by partners David Thomson and Lisette Hood who specialise in corporate and commercial law, working with a number of high-profile private and public sector clients that shape New Zealand's commercial landscape.  David and Lisette have worked closely together for 25 years and provide an excellent working environment and opportunity for a lawyer who is interested in joining a blended transactional and advisory practice.

As a valued member of the team, you will work with David, Lisette and the wider team on a broad range of corporate transactions and commercial matters that include mergers and acquisitions, corporate advisory and structuring work, commercial contracting, procurement, corporate governance and joint ventures. 

You will be an integral part of a team that works across major industry sectors, and with various national and multi-national businesses in both the private and public sector.

This is a great opportunity for you if you enjoy a varied diet of corporate and commercial legal work, have great commercial drafting skills, and are looking to develop your career in private practice.

Have two to four years PQE in corporate and/or general commercial law

A genuine interest and enthusiasm to build a career in corporate and commercial law

Be a great communicator and thrive in a collaborative and high-performing work environment, and

Be able to connect with a wide range of people including clients and others in the firm.
