The Boeing F-22 Program is looking for a Software Safety Engineer (Associate or Mid-Level) to join our Sustainment and Modernization team in Berkeley, Missouri. This is an excellent opportunity to work on challenging projects and advance your career in the aviation engineering field. Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Associate or Mid-Level Software Safety Engineer.

Position Responsibilities:

• Support hardware and software change reviews
• Provide support for our internal software certification process
• Perform hazard tracking and risk resolution via System/Subsystem Hazard Analysis
• Conduct safety assessments and technical safety memos, including: Engineering Review Boards, Enhancement Projects, address aircraft safety concerns, and track safety critical items.
• Maintenance and development of Aviation Critical Safety Item (ACSI) list
• Support System Safety Working Groups
• Support fleet incidents and mishap investigations
• Be comfortable briefing all levels of management, program office, and USAF personnel
• Support the F-22 for any and all aircraft/software safety concerns

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
• 2+ years of experience with software certification processes and standards, such as DO-178C or similar, and experience supporting internal software certification activities
• Experience with strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively brief and collaborate with various stakeholders, including management, program offices, and military personnel
• Experience with strong analytical skills to evaluate complex systems and identify potential safety issues

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• 5+ years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Active Security Clearance
• Experience working effectively in a team environment
• Strong commitment to innovation and a proven track record of achieving success

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range Associate (Level 2): $88,400 - $119,600

Summary pay range Mid-Level (Level 3): $107,100 - $144,900

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Export Control Requirement:

If the successful candidate is not a “U.S. Person” (as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 “U.S. Person” includes U.S. citizens and U.S. nationals, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees) and the position requires access to export-controlled data, an appropriate export authorization by the U.S. Government may be required prior to such access. Employment, and the continuity of employment of non-U.S. persons, is contingent upon the company’s ability to secure and maintain the necessary export control authorization.

Security Clearance:

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
