About The Role

We are looking for a Software Integration Engineer to join our team in Tokyo. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of IT systems, software engineering, and logistics. You’ll play a key role in integrating our Warehouse Execution System (WES) into customer environments, ensuring seamless deployment and performance.

What You Will Do

• Engage directly with customers’ IT and operations teams to understand their requirements
• Translate business and operational needs into actionable design requirements for WES integration
• Design and develop reliable, scalable, and testable WES add-ons tailored to each solution
• Write and review high-quality software design specifications and technical documentation
• Perform unit, integration, and end-to-end testing on both simulated and live systems
• Participate in the software integration and commissioning phases of projects
• Collaborate with local experts and international Exotec teams to solve software engineering challenges

Requirements:
We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds and experiences. If you meet some (not all) of the criteria below, we still encourage you to apply:

• Experience in IT systems integration or software engineering (not focused on pure development)
• Background in systems integration, IT engineering, or logistics engineering
• Familiarity with Node-RED or other event-driven/flow-based technologies
• Experience API integration
• Experience designing and managing relational database and good SQL skills
• Strong autonomy, and planning skills
• Excellent customer communication skills
• Fluent in English
• Fluent in Japanese or Korean is preffered
• Willingness to travel occasionally within Japan or APAC for software commissioning (a few weeks per year)
