Software Engineering Manager

We’re looking for a Software Engineering Manager to lead several engineering teams. We are building new capabilities and skills within the team, so the role demands a lot of mentoring, upskilling, and contribution in bringing best practices in Software Development and implementing processes around them. We are establishing a new Product function in the department and there will be close collaboration with the Product owner in building new products and services in the next few months. We’re looking for someone with empathy and people-centric mentality who can also execute and work hands-on to lead by example.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and mentor the development team, driving technical excellence and upskilling members

• Architect and build new products and services (SaaS, plugins and more)

• Implement Software Development best practices and processes that fit the Agile methodologies’ philosophy

• Collaborate with Product Owner and stakeholders to discover needs and find the best ways to address them technically

• Take on hands-on engineering work, writing and reviewing code, unblocking impediments and guiding the rest of the team

• Monitor the impact of delivered solutions and drive continuous improvement

Requirements:
What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of experience managing Software Engineering teams

• 7+ years of experience in Software Engineering, having built web applications, products and solutions

• Python experience

• People-centric approach in team management, looking after your team members, their well-being and their professional growth

• Experience with microservices architectures, containerized applications with CI/CD pipelines and working on cloud infrastructure

• Deep understanding of Software Design Patterns and OOP practices

• Experience with Agile methodologies

• Great communication skills and enthusiasm to talk to stakeholders and clients

• Comfort working in ambiguity — moving quickly with limited resources, but clear intent.

• A balance of vision and execution: you can set a direction and roll up your sleeves to deliver. We are looking for someone who will be quite hands-on with engineering work

Νice to Have

• Background in startups or high-growth environments.

• Experience in B2B environments

• Familiarity with DDD (Domain-Driven Design)

• Experience in building AI-driven products

• Experience with AI-assisted coding
