Breeze Airways is transforming how people travel with a focus on simplicity, kindness, and innovation. As an Intern, Software Engineer, you'll work alongside our engineering team to build the software systems that power our operations, from booking and reservations to in-flight experiences and operations management. You'll contribute to meaningful projects that directly impact thousands of guests flying Breeze every day.

Here's what you'll do

Scope of Impact: Individual contributions within a single team

Build and Ship Features:

• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to develop software solutions that enhance the Breeze customer and operational experience

• Write clean, maintainable code for front-end and back-end systems using our tech stack (Ruby on Rails, Angular, Go, PostgreSQL)

• Contribute to feature development across our web applications, mobile apps, and internal tools

• Grow your technical skillset and receive mentorship from your team members.

Ensure Quality:

• Write thorough unit tests and participate in code reviews

• Debug and resolve issues in development and production environments

Learn and Grow:

• Work under the guidance of other engineers to understand complex systems and best practices

• Continuously expand your technical skills as our platform and technology evolves

Drive Impact:

• Contribute ideas to improve customer experiences and operational efficiency

• Participate in technical discussions and planning sessions

• Help maintain documentation and share knowledge with the team

Here's what you'll need to be successful

Minimum Qualifications

• 0-2 years of professional software development experience

• Developing foundation in computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, and system design

• Understanding of Git version control and collaborative development workflows

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Active enrollment in a 4-year degree in Computer Science or related field
