Software Engineer – WPS Add‑on Development

LSEG Workspace Engineering is seeking a Software Engineer to support development within the China Self‑Reliance project, with a focus on building and enhancing WPS Add‑on integrations for the Workspace Platform. The engineer will collaborate with senior team members to develop new features, improve performance, and ensure compliance with platform quality, security, and performance standards. This role is ideal for engineers who are eager to grow in complex enterprise‑grade development environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance WPS Add‑ons using TypeScript, Node.js, and Office.js

• Deliver high‑quality code that aligns with platform security, performance, and compliance standards

• Work closely with cross‑functional and cross‑location teams to deliver scalable and maintainable solutions

• Participate in CI/CD processes, automated testing, and code reviews

• Investigate and debug issues, propose solutions, and contribute to continuous improvement

• Support performance tuning, profiling, and optimization under guidance from senior engineers

• Stay up to date with new techniques, tools, and best practices relevant to WPS and add‑on development

Required Skills & Experience

• 3–5 years of hands‑on software development experience

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js

• Understanding of Office.js, Office APIs, or experience developing add‑ons or plug‑ins

• Familiarity with microservices, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and cloud environments (Azure preferred)

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and Git‑based workflows

• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and technical problem‑solving skills

• Good communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic experience with C/C++ development or working with native integration modules

• Experience with Linux application development, especially on ARM CPU architecture

• Understanding of performance tuning or memory optimization

• Exposure to cross‑platform development or interest in Office add‑on ecosystems
