Software Engineer with AI Knowledge

We are looking for a skilled Software Engineer with strong Java development experience and practical AI knowledge. You will help design and implement complex, high-scale systems within our SaaS environment. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will deliver robust, secure, and scalable solutions using modern cloud technologies and AI-driven capabilities.

What will you be doing?

• Design and implement AI-driven software solutions with a focus on scalability and performance.
• Evaluate trade-offs between cost, latency, security, and quality to optimize services.
• Work with microservices architecture and deployment pipelines to deliver reliable solutions.
• Rapidly prototype and validate ideas to accelerate innovation.
• Collaborate closely with other teams to align technical solutions with business goals.

Where will you end up?

Our international team is based in Delft and Budapest and currently includes two engineers, a product manager, UX designers, and an engineering manager. We’re now looking to add a tester as well to strengthen our capabilities.

We’ve recently established a dedicated team focused on driving TOPdesk’s AI initiatives. This team is responsible for developing new services that interact with large language models, rapidly prototyping and experimenting with emerging ideas, and validating solutions that best meet our customers’ needs. In addition, the team explores cutting-edge AI technologies to identify and integrate the most effective advancements into our systems.

About you

• 3+ years of experience as a Java developer 
• Understanding of AI deployment pipelines (monitoring, observability, evaluation) 
• Ability to build rapid prototypes and take them to production 
• Knowledge of SaaS and cloud architectures 
• Strong cross-team collaboration and communication skills 

Nice to have:

• 2+ years of experience with TypeScript or similar 
• Familiarity with OpenAI and other LLM technologies
• Ability to evaluate AI solutions based on cost, latency, and quality trade-offs
