Residential Flex

The Residential Flex product line is creating a smart, sustainable energy system by leveraging residential devices such as batteries, heat pumps and EVs, using their flexibility to optimise renewable electricity use. Our goal is to become the leading residential flexibility provider. By digitally connecting millions of home devices to energy markets and utilities, we are building a Software as a Service (SaaS) business that brings greener and cheaper power to homes.

As we enter the stage of rapid commercialisation and customer account growth, we have a number of exciting new offerings to launch to customers. We’re looking for an exceptional person to help us continuously deliver features that provide value to our customers.

Our ideal engineer would be an individual who loves to engage with interesting software problems across the entire stack, with a passion for both front-end and back-end development, and the drive to build and shape the future within a collaborative, community-based environment. We operate a highly agile development approach, giving wide scope to be involved with hands-on system-design, full lifecycle development from conception to deployment, test-driven development, and full-stack operations.

What you'll do:
•
Design, build and maintain high performance, reusable & reliable Typescript code across the entire stack.

•
Ensure the best possible performance, reliability and quality of the KrakenFlex platform.

•
Contribute to development across the entire stack from the React/Typescript front end down to the infrastructure that the platform runs on, often utilising serverless patterns on AWS.

•
Contribute to the software engineering culture here at KrakenFlex.

•
Work with event-driven systems (often leveraging AWS SQS/SNS).

•
Collaborate regularly with colleagues with many different professional specialities to create innovative solutions that delight our customers and colleagues.

•
Mentor junior engineers via pairing, design review & code review.

•
Work as part of a team of engineers, regularly seeking feedback and growing your skills as technical professionals.

What you'll need:
•
In depth industry experience in software development & design.

•
Proven experience with Full Stack Typescript.

•
Experience with AWS or similar cloud providers, and serverless technologies e.g. AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, API Gateway.

•
Willingness to learn new programming languages and work full stack.

•
A drive to get things done in a collaborative, agile development environment.

•
A proven ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.

•
Excellent analytical and multitasking skills.

It would be great if you had :
•
Tailwind/CSS.

•
Experience developing, securing or operating cloud scale applications or infrastructure; ideally using infrastructure-as-code tools like CDK or CloudFormation.

•
Familiarity with Azure Databrick and passion for improving the way cloud applications are built.
