About the team

Product Security Team: Securing Rubrik’s Products

The Product Security Engineering team is responsible for building innovative security-focused features and frameworks for large scale data management products. We are looking for a software engineer to join the Identity & Access Management Product Security team composed of talented software engineers in delivering security features and frameworks in the product as well as fostering a culture of security in the wider engineering organization.

Our mission is to secure the platform, building industry standard security features and frameworks customers expect and innovative security features customers appreciate.

The teams area of ownership is:

• Identity & Access Management:

• Login Security features: MFA, Password Policy, Passwordless login etc..

• Frameworks for Integrations with third parties: SSO, LDAP, PAM etc..

• Comprehensive Role-based access control (RBAC) framework

• API authentication and authorization frameworks

• Session management and token lifecycle

• Many others!

What you’ll do

• Design, implement, release and own new features and frameworks to secure the product for our customers.

• Review team code and designs to ensure quality.

• Collaborate cross-functionally to understand customer requirements and build solutions that meet their needs while collaborating with product management.

• Create and monitor unit, integration, scalability, and performance tests for the team's features and frameworks to ensure team operational excellence.

• Collaborate with customer support teams to debug, resolve and prevent customer issues, utilizing tools such as Tableau, logz.io and Google Cloud Platform.

• Learn how to:

• Identify areas of improvement in the team's features and frameworks to improve the product.

• Review other engineering team’s code and designs to ensure security standards are met.

• Mentor less experienced team members and collaborate with customer support teams to solve complex issues.

Experience & qualifications you’ll need

• BS/BA degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience.

• Experience in Software Development in one or more general-purpose programming languages, including but not limited to Java, C/C++, Python, Scala, or Go.

• Experience building and interacting with APIs (GraphQL, REST, gRPC).

• Experience with relational (SQL) databases.

• Willingness to learn security concepts.

• Strong software engineering skills, including problem solving, design, implementation, testing, and ownership.

• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write technical documentation and deliver presentations.

• Comfortable working in a cross-geo dev team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Security experience or coursework completed

• Proficiency in identifying common classes of vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10)

• Experience architecting and developing large-scale systems.

• Hands-on knowledge of authentication, authorization, and other security related topics.
