Software Engineer, React, Mexico City

Lab49 is seeking a Software Engineer, React based in the Mexico City metropolitan area to help our team design and build a research management platform. You will report tothe project tech lead, which means you will have responsibility for building and iterating on the user interface application following the backlog developed by the team.

What You Will Be Doing::
• Working on one of our project teams as an engineer, building cutting edge user experiences using modern tech and techniques. You'll be responsible for delivering against a well-managed backlog of tasks, and will have ample opportunity to interact with our client counterparts.
• Collaborating with our product and design teams on a daily basis to translate UI designs into working software.
• Participating in project planning, guided by senior team leads, to build a shared understanding of how to translate a technical approach into a project plan.
• Learning and growing as an engineer and consultant, under the guidance of senior technical leads and project leads.
• Contributing to growing the overall culture of the Interactive Practice, and Lab49 at large. Contribute your perspective and knowledge back to the team, participating in internal events and knowledge sharing sessions.

What You Should Have::
• 3+ years of hands-on experience designing and building software applications.
• A passion for technology and innovation, staying informed about the latest industry trends through active participation in industry events, meet-ups, and more.
• Experience with React, JavaScript and TypeScript. Experience with other modern frameworks (e.g., Angular, Vue, or others) is welcome but not required.
• A working knowledge of the React and JavaScript ecosystem of tools and libraries (e.g. grid libraries, chart libraries, state management, and others).
• An understanding of contemporary SDLC practices such as continuous delivery.
• Experience with Agile development methodology.
• Strong understanding of the value of testing, quality, continuous integration, source control, and code reviews.
• Excellent spoken and written English skills (B2 minimum, C1+ preferred)
• Readiness to be at the office in central Mexico City 1 day per week (or more, depending on the project requirements)

Bonus points::
• Experience with design tools such as Figma.
• Experience in capital markets, financial markets/products, consulting is highly desirable.
• Experience and/or exposure to .NET and the .NET ecosystem.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, especially Azure.

Our Hybrid Work Model
