Joining Collibra’s AI Foundations team

You will be joining the AI Foundations team, the engine room behind Collibra’s Artificial Intelligence strategy. Our mission is to build the platform and tools that enable other engineering teams to rapidly create and deploy high-quality AI functionalities. We are currently a team of backend experts looking for a partner to lead our frontend initiatives while working across the full stack.

You will play a critical role in defining the user experience of our internal AI platform, ensuring our tools are intuitive for developers and data scientists. Since our frontend surface area is still growing, you will also dive into our Java/Spring backend, helping us build the robust microservices that power the next generation of intelligent data solutions.

This is a hybrid role based in our Prague office. Our hybrid model means you’ll work from the office at least two days each week. This setup helps us stay connected, work more closely together, and keep making progress as a team.

As a Java Software Engineer at Collibra, you will be responsible for

• Building, leading, and mentoring a high performance team of software engineers, while fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and customer focused team culture.

• Guiding the team's technical strategy and architectural decisions in order to build a scalable, secure, and reliable platform on Kubernetes and public cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP).

• Collaborating with Product Managers, Architects, and other engineering teams to define the product roadmap and ensure timely delivery of features that meet customer needs.

• While using agile techniques, managing the full software development lifecycle for the Cloud Site team in order to deliver incremental value, from planning and development to deployment and operations.

• Building the team by attracting, hiring, and retaining engineering talent to ensure the team has the skills and capacity to meet its goals.

You have

• 5+ years experience building scalable software applications, or 3+ years of experience and a Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field

• Industry experience and knowledge of:

• Docker, Kubernetes, and preferably, Helm

• AWS or GCP infrastructure projects

• Building cloud-native applications in Java with an eye towards operability, maintainability, and scaling.

• A great understanding of cloud-native application engineering

• Familiar with building and operating applications on Kubernetes, integrating with public cloud technologies, and using languages like Java and Golang.

• A proactive and clear communicator, skilled at articulating technical concepts to both engineering and business partners.

• A dedicated builder of high performance teams, with experience in hiring, mentoring, and developing the careers of your fellow Collibrians.

• An advocate for continuous learning and improvement for yourself and the technology you build.

Measures of success are

• Within your first month, you will familiarize yourself with the Edge product, tech stack, team, and be submitting your first PRs

• Within your third month, you will be comfortable driving features and fixes independently in a collaborative environment

• Within your sixth month, you will be ready to own and design significant features or capabilities of the product
