Metal Toad is an Advanced AWS Consulting Partner that empowers organizations to innovate through artificial intelligence, cloud migration, cost optimization, and application modernization. We help our customers with their cloud adoption by providing architecture, migration, optimization, machine learning, and even 24/7 support. We are a professional services firm providing services in software engineering and the cloud. We do Technical consulting, Programming & Quality Assurance, DevOps, Applications, UX, Product management, and Project management.
Metal Toad is a fully remote company, offering all team members the ability to work from home. For this opportunity, the selected candidate must be available to work Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific Time (PST).
Although Metal Toad is a remote company, we are currently seeking contractors residing in Brazil for this position. Compensation will be made in Brazilian Reais (R$), in accordance with the local currency of the country where the position is located. Due to legal limitations, we are unable to sponsor any type of visa.

Job description
The NextJS Software Engineer position at Metal Toad requires experience in building high-performing, scalable, enterprise-grade applications. You will be part of a talented team that works on mission-critical applications.
Responsibilities
Planning

Confirms project requirements by reviewing program objectives, input data, and output requirements with PMs, supervisors, and clients.
Provides estimates based on requirements, wireframes, and designs.
Development

Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle.
Work as part of a team.
Code conforms to best practices.
Appreciate the value of well-tested code.
Perform peer code reviews.
Create projects that are free of major defects.

Researches new libraries, techniques, and ideas.

Qualifications

Experience with or knowledge of the following technologies:
3+ years of experience with Javascript
2+ years of experience with NextJS
REST APIs development and deployment
JSON modeling and usage
Querying and modeling using a relational data store.
Using package managers such as npm or pip
Using Git for source control.
Experience in TDD and/or BDD.
Strives to enhance project test coverage.
Nice to have
AWS Certifications or be willing to get certified.
Interest in Generative AI technologies.
2+ years of experience with React
