Software Engineer

What you'll do:
As an Software Engineer in Regnology, you will be part of our international Research & Development Team, and you’ll work within our agile development cycle in the RegTech area during on enhancing and re-launching our product called “Regnology Transactions”. 
 
Your key accountabilities are:
• You will participate in the end-to-end migration of legacy databases to the new platform, ensuring data integrity, security, and performance.
• You will develop scripts and tools to automate migration tasks, reduce manual effort, and improve reliability. 
• You will be responsible for monitoring monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving issues in existing software to ensure stability, performance, and reliability.
• You will work closely with Business Analysts, Product Owners, and other teams to refine requirements and deliver solutions that meet business objectives.
• You will engage with customers when necessary to clarify requirements, gather feedback, and ensure solutions align with user needs.
• You will design, implement, and test new features and sub-modules in alignment with product requirements and architectural standards.

• Completed university degree in Computer Science or equivalent qualification. 
• 3–5 years of professional experience in software development. 
• Proficiency in developing data-driven applications using Java, Trino SQL, and strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases. 
• Hands-on experience building production-ready Java applications; ideally familiar with Spring Boot, Docker, and Kubernetes. 
• Solid understanding of Data Lakehouse architecture, including ACID transactions, schema management, structured data layers, and data analytics. 
• Experience with SonarQube for code quality and static analysis. 
• Familiarity with development toolchains (Maven, Jenkins) and testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito). 
• Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on mentality and ability to think outside the box. 
• Collaborative mindset with a sense of responsibility and trustworthiness. 
• Fluency in English; German is a plus.
