A Day in The Life Of:

In general, the following responsibilities apply for the Software Engineer II role. This includes, but is not limited to the following:

• Work independently under limited supervision
• Implement CI/CD patterns for deploying and administering the data platform
• Setup proactive monitoring and alerting
• Create automation to enable a self-service model for developers
• Troubleshoot production issues
• Use platform metrics to provide insights for platform performance and cost-containment.
• Work with IT and business partners to identify opportunities to improve existing processes

Key Skills & Experience  

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience
• SQL and set-theory knowledge (SQLServer/Trino)
• Knowledge/Experience working with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions or Azure Pipelines
• Knowledge/Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform or Ansible
• Knowledge of big data technologies such as AWS Glue, Athena, Lake Formation or similar
• Python (Pandas a big plus)
• AWS certifications a plus

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
