Job Overview
The Software Engineer (4–6 years experience) will design, develop, and operate cloud-native microservices and real-time data streaming applications. The role is hands-on and focuses on Java, Spring Boot, Apache Kafka, Python-based data processing, and AWS-based deployment using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
Essential Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based microservices using Spring Boot and Maven.
• Develop event-driven and real-time streaming systems using Apache Kafka, Kafka Streams, and KTables.
• Implement Python workflows for data transformation, validation, aggregation, and automation.
• Create and maintain REST APIs and integrate with upstream and downstream systems.
• Containerize applications using Docker and deploy/manage them on Kubernetes (AWS EKS).
• Work with AWS services such as S3, EC2, and EKS to ensure scalability and operational excellence.
• Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines for build, test, security, and deployment automation.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with Product, QA, and DevOps/SRE teams.
• Perform debugging, production issue triage, performance tuning, and code reviews.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4–6 years of relevant experience in backend or platform software development.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architectures.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, including Kafka Streams and stateful processing.
• Proficiency in Python for data processing and analysis.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and AWS cloud services.
Desired Characteristics
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Experience building, deploying, and operating microservices on AWS Kubernetes (EKS).
• Exposure to observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, or CloudWatch.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform or CloudFormation).
• Understanding of security best practices including IAM, secrets management, and vulnerability scanning.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
 
Preferred / Nice to Have
• Knowledge of AI/ML concepts (model lifecycle basics, feature pipelines, inference integrations).
• Experience with observability tools (e.g., Prometheus/Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, CloudWatch).
• Infrastructure-as-Code exposure (Terraform/CloudFormation) is a plus.
• Working knowledge on Frontend (Angular/React)
