Software Engineer, AI Integrations

The AI Integrations team is looking for an experienced software engineer to empower builders with the context and tools to deploy powerful workflows across people and apps. The team owns making workflows across apps powerful by using AI, context from third-party systems and our automation engine.

This role is based in our San Francisco office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. The standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays. Working from home on Fridays depends on the type of work you do and the teams with which you partner. About the team

AI Studio is Asana’s flagship AI product, our no-code automation engine platform that empowers teams to integrate AI-driven automation directly into their workflows, powering the world’s largest companies’ important workflows. The AI Integrations team is a critical part of this product as workflows are accomplished by not only Asana but also other tools such as Slack, Gmail, Confluence, and many more.

Our team sits at a unique intersection of product, platform, and ecosystem. We aim to build integration product features that delight end users with important context from their third-party systems. We also aim to build a platform for other developers to expose their integrations and relevant data to drive powerful AI workflows. You’ll be solving customer problems with new product launches, and be a platform force multiplier for other Asana engineers, our customers, and the developer ecosystem.

Our full-stack team is composed of integration experts and AI engineers who have worked across many different Asana product features. We move quickly and deliberately to unlock new features for our customers and own our integration product experiences end to end.

Responsibilities

• Work with a talented team of software engineers using cutting-edge AI models such as Claude 3.7, GPT-4.5, and o1.

• Collaborate with product to build develop robust, intuitive integrations in Asana’s AI Studio.

• Design and implement reusable patterns in our backend platform, enabling internal and external developers to build and scale integrations within AI Studio quickly.

• Enable LLM-powered automation by integrating AI-driven actions into third-party tools such as Slack, Gmail, and Confluence, optimizing workflow efficiency.

You might thrive in this role if you:

• 3+ years of experience, working across the stack within large, well-maintained codebases.

• Are comfortable diving into third-party APIs and their documentation and understand their nuances.

• Have worked on full-stack building features that involve both UI and backend development.

• Are an excellent communicator and cross-functional collaborator.

• Engage with their teammates in a spirit of openness and curiosity.

We believe that compensation should be reflective of the value you create relative to the market value of your role. To ensure pay is fair and not impacted by biases, we're committed to looking at market value which is why we check ourselves and conduct a yearly pay equity audit.

For this role, the estimated base salary range is between $171,00 - 209,000. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The listed range above is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified.

In addition to base salary, your compensation package may include additional components such as equity, sales incentive pay (for most sales roles), and benefits.
