Software Development Engineer in Test (Python)

Team Summary

We are expanding our SDET team of five engineers working with Java and Python frameworks. The team focuses on automated testing of AI-based algorithms for home IoT devices.

We collaborate closely with the wider QA organization by not only contributing automated test coverage but also delivering valuable tools, improvements, and best practices that strengthen the frameworks themselves.

Our team is goal-oriented, well-coordinated, and collaborative. We follow Agile methodologies in daily work and prioritise transparency, effective communication, and continuous improvement.

Job Summary

We are looking for an SDET Engineer with strong Python skills and hands-on experience in embedded testing. In this role, you will be responsible for automated tests, maintaining and improving testing infrastructure, and enhancing existing solutions by leveraging AI-driven approaches.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Develop and maintain test frameworks using Python 3.11, including device HAL components and supporting test libraries.

• Collaborate with Firmware SDET teams to enhance and evolve existing automation frameworks across different testing streams.

• Work closely with the Hardware team to onboard and integrate hardware-based testing tools.

• Collaborate with Manual QA teams to define and expand the scope of test automation for Motion Detection programs.

• Support the General QA team through mentorship, code reviews, and contributions to automated test creation.

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong Python knowledge

• Experience working with Linux-based systems

• Solid understanding of CS fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, design patterns, etc.)

• Experience in writing development support tools such as parsers, profilers, data visualization tools, etc.

• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Gerrit, GitLab)

• Strong communication, collaboration, and analytical problem-solving skills

• Good written and spoken English

Nice to have

• Experience with Raspberry Pi/Arduino

• Background in embedded software development

• Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms

• Experience with other scripting languages, e.g., Bash, Groovy

• Experience with Java-based test automation

• Experience with mobile test automation
