About the Role

As a Software Developer, you will be responsible for building, enhancing, and maintaining scalable backend services and APIs that support long-term product development. This is a hands-on engineering role with a strong focus on TypeScript and PHP (Symfony), contributing to reliable, well-structured systems that integrate with cloud services and external platforms.

This is a long-term position, suited to someone who enjoys working on evolving products, collaborating with other engineers, and taking ownership of features from development through to production.

Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using TypeScript and PHP (Symfony)
• Build and consume APIs, ensuring they are reliable, secure, and well-documented
• Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of existing systems and services
• Collaborate with other engineers to deliver features aligned with product and technical goals
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following engineering best practices
• Support deployments and ongoing operation of services in a cloud-based environment
• Identify and resolve bugs, performance issues, and technical improvements as part of ongoing development

Requirements:
• 3+ years of professional experience with TypeScript in a production environment
• 3+ years of experience with PHP, including hands-on work with Symfony
• 1+ year of experience designing and working with APIs
• Experience building and maintaining backend services for long-term products
• Familiarity with cloud-based development and deployment concepts
• Ability to work collaboratively within an engineering team while taking ownership of assigned work

Nice to Have:
• 1+ year of experience with AWS, particularly working with cloud-hosted services
• 1+ year of experience with DynamoDB or similar NoSQL databases
• Exposure to event-driven or distributed systems
• Experience improving performance, scalability, or reliability of backend services
• Interest in learning and evolving with cloud-native technologies over time
