Software Developer in Test

We currently have an opening for a Software Developer in Test at our office in Vancouver.  

About the Opportunity: 

The Software Developer in Test works closely with the software development team to improve the quality of our transportation software products used by the engineering and architectural design communities. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining automated and manual test solutions, collaborating early in the development lifecycle to identify risks, prevent defects, and ensure reliable, high performance releases. The ideal candidate brings a strong software development mindset to testing, contributes to continuous improvement of test frameworks and processes, and advocates for quality across the team. 

NOTE: This is a hybrid role where you will be expected to work a minimum of 2 days per week in our Vancouver, Canada office. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks and supporting test infrastructure to ensure reliable and consistent software releases.  

Write high quality, maintainable test code and collaborate with developers to integrate automated testing into the CI/CD pipeline. 

Design, and execute automated, functional, and regression tests throughout the development lifecycle.  

Actively monitor product quality, investigate failures, and clearly document, track and verify defects using the bug tracking system.  

Debug issues across test and production code, contributing fixes, improvements, or test enhancements as needed. 

Advocate for quality control best practices, including testability, code coverage, and testing strategies.  

Participate fully in agile development activities and contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes, tools, and standards.  

Collaborate closely with software developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure appropriate test coverage. 

About You: 

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline. 

Experience with one or more programming/scripting languages such as C++, C#, and Python. 

Strong software development skills with the ability to write clean, reliable, and maintainable code for test automation. 

Working knowledge of database schemas and software development life cycle tools and practices. 

Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues and identify root causes. 

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to clearly articulate technical concepts through code, documentation, and collaboration. 

Self motivated and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for product quality.  

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline driven agile software development environment.
