We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain security service software supporting SonicWall’s cybersecurity platform. This role involves building scalable backend systems, maintaining data center services, and contributing to security-focused infrastructure and applications.

The ideal candidate possesses strong computer science fundamentals, deep networking and security knowledge, and extensive experience in systems programming and backend development. This position requires technical leadership, cross-team collaboration, and the ability to influence broader organizational initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain SonicWall security service software.

• Support operation, monitoring, and maintenance of SonicWall backend data center services.

• Develop high-performance and reliable backend components using C/C++ and modern scripting languages.

• Contribute to architecture, scalability, and performance improvements of security platforms.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure and scalable solutions.

• Troubleshoot complex production and system-level issues.

• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and engineering best practices.

• Provide technical leadership and contribute to broader organizational and strategic initiatives.

Required Skills:

• Solid computer science fundamentals in areas such as data structures, algorithms, TCP/IP network, security.

• Experience developing software on Linux and/or Windows environments.

• Strong programming experience in C/C++.

• Experience with at least one scripting or backend language such as Python/Go/Bash shell

• Experience building scalable backend or system-level software.

• Ability to work independently while contributing to team and organizational goals.

Education and Experience:

• At least 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent experience preferred 

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred
