Your Role:
As a Software Architect, you will work hand-in-hand with the VP of R&D and the leadership team to define and evolve the architecture of our end-to-end OT solution — spanning on-prem and cloud, from data collection to complex deployment scenarios. You will partner across Frontend, Backend, Automation, and DevOps to drive critical design decisions, ensure scalability and reliability, and lead the system’s evolution to its next stage while aligning with the broader product suite. You will be the go-to technical authority for our engineers — the mentor and trusted advisor who sets the bar for excellence.

Your Opportunity:

A wide-ranging role tackling complex technical problems across systems and teams.

• You will work closely with the VP of R&D and the leadership team, owning architectural decisions that drive scalable high-quality engineering solutions.

• You will take part in evolving the existing architecture to its next stage—make the right tech choices and ensure seamless integration with the broader Tenable product suite.

• You will partner across teams to drive initiatives, shape the target architecture, and shape new features.

• Drive product performance and stability improvements by leveraging complex, cross-domain data and metrics.

• Serve as the technical authority — driving architecture and design reviews, mentoring engineers, and shaping long-term engineering excellence.

• Collaborate with amazing groups of cross-functional team members including product management, design and other engineers in your Agile team

What You'll Need:

• At least 8 years of system/backend programming experience (C/C++ or similar)

• We use Go for a lot of development. If you have experience with it, great! If you don’t, then you’ll need the desire to learn it quickly.

• At least 2 years at a high level technical position (Architect, Tech lead)

• Experience with On-Prem and Cloud deployments and architectures

• Being a tech savvy and knowledgeful of cutting edge technologies

• Knowledge in all aspects of software development: Low-level, Backend, Frontend, Automation testing and Devops.

• Experience with data-intensive systems

• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and Unix internals

• Experience with multi-threaded and network programming

• Strong understanding of network application architecture and data structures

• Academic level understanding of algorithms and data-structures

• Proficiency in business level English

And Ideally:

• Knowledge of Cyber Security trends and events. Ideally OT/ICS or adjacent (asset discovery, DPI, threat modeling).

• Experience developing packet sniffing applications or similar network applications.

• Significant hands-on experience with Linux
