About the Role
My Senior Health Plan, a leader in the Medicare B2C space for nearly 20 years, is looking for a motivated Social Media Marketing Intern to spend the summer helping us grow our presence across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube. If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of seniors, we want to hear from you!
This role is hands-on and execution-driven. You’ll support daily social activity that helps educate seniors, promote Medicare 101 events, and expand our reach in the community.
What You’ll Do:
Content Posting
Publish scheduled content across:
YouTube (short-form + basic video uploads)
Ensure posts are clear, engaging, and aligned with our brand voice
Repurpose content across platforms (example: LinkedIn post → Instagram + Facebook versions)
Engagement (Commenting & Interaction)
Monitor and respond to comments and messages in a timely, professional manner
Engage with followers by:
Liking and replying to comments
Participating in conversations
Encouraging interaction on posts
Maintain a helpful, educational tone (not sales-focused)
Content Sharing & Amplification
Share company posts into:
Relevant groups (especially Facebook community groups)
Personal and team networks (as appropriate)
Help expand reach by identifying where content should be distributed for visibility
Support internal team sharing efforts (employee engagement)
Influencer & Partner Identification
Research local and niche influencers, including:
Community leaders
Senior-focused organizations
Healthcare and Medicare-related voices
Identify potential partners for:
Event promotion (Medicare 101)
Content collaboration
Build and maintain a simple list of influencer opportunities
Basic Performance Awareness
Track metrics:
Likes, comments, shares
Video views (YouTube)
Engagement trends
Present social media metrics to company leaders
What We’re Looking For:
Interest in social media marketing
Familiarity with Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube
Strong written communication skills
Organized and responsive
Comfortable engaging with people online
Canva or basic design experience
Bonus Skills (Not Required):
Experience posting or managing social accounts
Interest in healthcare or community outreach
