Job Description
Men in Blazers is the No. 1 Soccer Media Network in the U.S. With a wide reach and a diverse, vocal fan base, we engage with teams, players, celebrity fans, and brands we love, to share our passion for soccer across the nation. Using humor, emotion, intelligence, and to-the-minute pop cultural aptitude, we provide fans with unique content that breaks down the biggest stories in the game in ways that are authentic, meaningful, and compulsively entertaining.
We are looking for a Social Media Manager to join and lead our social media strategy for the VAMOS Network, inclusive of storytelling, audience development, and community engagement across all of VAMOS’ social channels. This role plays a critical role in shaping, and communicating, our social media tone and voice across the entire US Soccer community.
Social Media Manager, VAMOS
Location: United States, Remote
What you’ll do:
Oversee all social media and promotional activities across VAMOS brands (e.g. The Give N Go, Duel Nats) and social channels (e.g. Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, X, Discord, etc.).
Lead content development and work with broader VAMOS to ensure distribution across all channels.
Stay up to the minute on changes to social media algorithms and content trends, providing regular reports to the team on how to incorporate changes to day-to-day content and work processes.
Work alongside the VAMOS production team to ideate, create, and deliver unique content; helping identify the best “social” content to generate from video-first productions.
Work directly with VAMOS and MIB leadership on content strategy, including analytics synthesis, audience insights, and content trendspotting.
Work in collaboration with other teams across Men in Blazers to execute editorial portions of content for external brand partnerships.
Execute real-time coverage for major match windows (e.g. World Cup Qualifiers, Copa América, Champions League nights), ensuring VAMOS is the second-screen destination for futbol in the Americas.
What you need:
5+ years of experience leading social strategy in sports/media across multiple brands and channels (bonus points for operating in intense “live” newsroom-style and/or soccer-specific environments).
Native or professional-level fluency in Spanish and English. You must be able to write copy that feels authentic in both languages, understanding the linguistic nuances between a Mexican-American Liga MX fan in Los Angeles and a Colombian-American Real Madrid fan in New York.
An encyclopedic knowledge of the global game, with a specific obsession for the narratives of futbol from the Americas (CONCACAF, CONMEBOL, MLS, Liga MX, Copa Libertadores).
Proficiency in mobile-first editing suites (CapCut, Adobe Premiere Rush/After Effects) and a keen eye for aesthetic trends that align with VAMOS’ brand identity.
The ability to see a trending story on Reddit or Twitter and immediately translate it into 3-4 workable content angles for our channels.
Ability to work with a remotely distributed team and flexibility to work with the soccer calendar (weeknights, weekends) around major happenings in the primary leagues VAMOS covers.
GFOP level understanding of the current, and historical, tone of the Men in Blazers media network.
Men In Blazers LLC is an equal opportunity employer.
