Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Social Media Director for a maternity leave coverage period. This role will lead organic social strategy, content, and execution across key accounts, acting as the senior social lead in partnership with account, creative, media, and client teams.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both strategic thinking and executional oversight. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in budgets, scoping, and resourcing, and can identify opportunities, flag gaps, and shape recommendations that align with business goals and available resources.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Lead social-first strategy across key programs and campaigns
Ensure alignment with broader brand, creative, and business objectives
Identify opportunities and contribute to recommendations that align with budget, resources, and goals
Client Leadership
Act as the senior social lead in client-facing conversations
Present strategies, recommendations, and performance
Manage expectations around scope, timelines, and resourcing
Clearly articulate what is achievable within budget and where additional support is needed
Team & Collaboration
Lead and guide social team members
Partner with account and creative teams for integrated execution
Support prioritization and maintain team alignment
Content Oversight & Content Creation
Oversee content calendars and social production from pre-production through post-production
Actively support content development, including ideation, shoot planning, and on-set direction as needed
Participate in key shoot days and provide guidance during production
Review and approve content across formats, ensuring quality and platform relevance
Ensure timely, on-strategy delivery
Performance
Analyze performance and provide actionable insights
Optimize content and strategies based on results
Resourcing & Operations
Lead social scoping and budget conversations with account teams
Maintain visibility into scope, hours, and production needs
Identify gaps and recommend solutions proactively
Support estimation of effort for content and campaigns
Business Growth
Identify opportunities to expand social support across accounts
Contribute to proposals and recommendations for new initiatives
Bring forward practical, budget-conscious solutions
Qualifications
6–10+ years of experience in social media with leadership experience
Agency experience preferred
Strong client management and presentation skills
Deep understanding of key social platforms
Experience with content production and influencer collaborations
Ability to balance strategy, execution, and resourcing
Experience with scoping, budgets, and identifying opportunities

Work Model
Hybrid (3 days in-office: Tues–Thurs)
