Job Overview:
We’re helping our client find a Social Content Editor to own the editing and optimization of social-first content across platforms. In this role, you’ll be responsible for turning raw footage into high-performing, engaging content tailored for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
You’ll play a key role in the content flywheel—editing, optimizing, and refining content that resonates with the target audience while aligning with brand voice, platform best practices, and compliance standards.
Responsibilities:
• Edit social-first content with a 24–48 hour turnaround time
• Optimize edits for platform-specific algorithms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, YouTube Shorts)
• Transform long-form content into multiple short, engaging clips
• Apply social-first editing techniques including trending audio, hooks, pacing, and visual storytelling
• Add captions, motion graphics, and animation layers to enhance engagement
• Understand and implement strong opening hooks tailored to each platform
• Review and refine UGC scripts and creator briefs before production
• Ensure all content aligns with brand voice and guidelines
• Collaborate asynchronously with social and brand teams to iterate quickly based on feedback
• Maintain consistency with content calendars and agreed SLAs
• Ensure all content is compliant with internal standards and applicable marketing or regulatory guidelines
• Proofread and polish all social-facing copy (CTAs, captions, hashtags, alt text, etc.)
• Identify and suggest trending formats, sounds, and content ideas relevant to the target audience
• Apply brand style guidelines consistently across all content
• Provide light strategic input on content performance and suggest optimizations
Requirements:
• Proven experience editing social-first content for platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube
• Strong understanding of platform algorithms, trends, and performance drivers
• Proficiency in video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut, Final Cut, etc.)
• Experience working with UGC content and creator-led campaigns
• Strong sense of storytelling, pacing, and hook creation
• Ability to work quickly and meet tight turnaround times (24–48 hours)
• Strong attention to detail, including grammar, tone, and brand consistency
• Experience working with brand guidelines and maintaining consistent voice
• Comfortable working asynchronously with remote teams
• Bonus: Experience in parenting, wellness, or other regulated industries
