Job Summary:
The SOC Specialist, based in Algosystems in Athens Greece, is responsible for onboarding newcomers to the SOC Team.
What You Will Do:
The role contributes to reviewing and fine-tuning technical customer reports, and contributing to the development and continuous improvement of SOC runbooks, procedures, and use cases.
Reporting to the SOC Manager.
Requirements:
Job Responsibilities
• Perform training and development sessions for newcomers and SOC team members.
• Engage in the creation and review process of technical customer weekly and monthly reports.
• Propose fine-tuning suggestions for “noisy” SIEM rules to improve response efficiency and overall SOC performance.
• Assist in updating SOC playbooks, SOPs, and knowledge base articles.
• Contribute to the development of SOC runbooks, KPIs, procedures, and use cases.
• Closely monitor customers’ security threats and alerts and collect data to initiate Level 2 escalation within defined timeframes.
• Work closely with Level 2 and Level 3 analysts to continuously improve SOC services and incident response processes.
Job Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 2+ years of experience in a SOC environment, with at least one year in a Level 1 SOC position
• Experience with SIEM platforms such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, IBM QRadar, or Elastic
• Familiarity with EDR/XDR solutions (e.g., CrowdStrike, SentinelOne) and SOAR platforms
• Knowledge of the MITRE ATT&CK framework and its use in threat detection and analysis
• Proficient in the preparation of technical reports, dashboards, and documentation
• Strong communication and coordination skills
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, Windows/Linux operating systems, and core security principles
• Experience working with ticketing systems and SOC case management tools
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA CySA+, Splunk Certified Power User, Microsoft SC-200, or CompTIA Security+ will be considered an asset
