The Role and Impact:
• As a SoC Functional Validation Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of Intel's innovative silicon solutions. Your contributions will directly impact the quality and reliability of Intel's SoCs, which power cutting-edge technologies across diverse industries. You will work at the intersection of hardware and software, validating system-on-chip (SoC) designs, optimizing performance, and delivering exceptional products to meet the demands of our global customers. You'll work in close collaboration with architects, microarchitects, RTL developers, and cross-functional teams to deliver industry-leading SoC solutions. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of Intel's SoC technologies while collaborating with some of the brightest minds in the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
• Define, develop, and perform functional validation for integrated SoCs, focusing on IP integration and system-level features.
• Develop and execute pre-silicon functional validation strategies, including scalable and reusable block, subsystem, and SoC verification plans.
• Perform system simulation and emulation to validate power, performance, and design functionality, identifying and resolving bugs in collaboration with RTL and architecture teams.
• Conduct in-depth debugging and root cause analysis of pre-silicon issues, implementing corrective measures to enhance design quality.
• Develop and execute comprehensive validation test plans to ensure SoC readiness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architecture, design, verification, and manufacturing, to optimize SoC designs and resolve validation challenges.
• Perform silicon debug to identify root causes of functional failures, triage issues, and drive resolutions.
• Test interactions between various SoC features using validation infrastructure and advanced methodologies.
• Develop and enhance post-silicon validation infrastructure, including performance monitors, state space coverage tools, and testing environments.
• Absorb learnings from post-silicon validation and continuously refine test plans to address any gaps, driving improvements for future products.
• Publish detailed SoC validation reports and communicate findings to relevant teams.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of debug and validation processes, methodologies, and strategies.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in SoC validation with a Bachelor's degree, or 2+ years with a Master's degree, or 0 years with a PhD.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, or Python.
• Expertise in functional validation and debug processes for SoCs.
• Experience with post-silicon validation and debug flows.
• Familiarity with debugging tools and techniques.
• Solid understanding of system architecture and SoC microarchitecture.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex SoC validation issues.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with a track record of working effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated ability to innovate and drive process improvements in SoC validation methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional and cross-site teams.
• Excellent communication skills to clearly articulate validation strategies, findings, and solutions to diverse stakeholders.
